Spiders and Webs - and Blogs? How to Apply a New Language

Category: Hiking, Insects, Internet – Admin – 2:15 pm

I have been blogging for one week. I have learned that “blog” is both a noun and a verb. I have also learned that blogging daily will allow search engines to spider the web in order to find my website, so people looking for my services can find me.

Today was one of those hikes where I was present in nature part of the time and off in my own thoughts at other times. No two hikes are ever the same and today large sections of the trail were under 3 inches or more of water. I had to be present in nature. Bushwhacking around water is a really easy way to get lost.

Back on the trail and lost in thought about blogs, I stopped when sunlight caught the movement of a spider’s web woven into a skeletal blueberry bush. I grew up in nature, where spiders wove webs to catch insects for food.

And now the words “spider” and “web” have added their own meaning in my life as a writer by and in nature.
