Maple Snow Cone Recipe

Category: Wild Food Recipes – Admin – 2:51 pm

I always save a bit of maple syrup from the previous spring harvest for the next year’s winter snow, especially the first snow of the season. The combination can’t be beat.

I’ll either fill plastic cups with newly fallen snow, or set the cups out (put an ice cube in the bottom to keep the cups from falling over) during a snowfall.

1. Add the maple syrup one teaspoon at a time.
2. Let the syrup and snow on the top layer form a bead-sized ball.
3. Eat that, pour more syrup and eat the next bead-sized maple snow ball.

I hate to waste even a drop of maple syrup, and this method is a sure-fire way to keep from pouring out too much syrup.
