Eating My Wild Words: Blueberry Pie Recipe and Adding Ping to My Vocabulary

Category: Books, Hiking, Internet, Journal – Admin – 10:18 am

Having perfected my wild blueberry pie recipe I’m savoring the fruits of my labor, along with a serving of humble pie on the cyber trail.

I’d convinced myself that if I used hike time to complete a bunch of work-related tasks, I’d have a worry free Saturday to hike all day. A fine plan until I pushed a button that disappeared an important section of my website. No clients were harmed, but I was in tears.

Why bother? I’m invisible in the vastness of cyberspace anyway, right? Do real environmentalists hang out in cyberspace anyway? What difference does my knowledge make to anyone?

To the rescue my cyber-shirpa and Internet Marketing Specialist. With deft fingers Angela Allen Parker Googled search terms “nonfiction nature articles” - I’m on page two, and a few other key phrases that motivated me to stay up a few more hours, re-input the disappeared material and realize that someone out there not only cares, but learns as a result of information I post.

And thanks to the cyber culture - I not only have a way to communicate but I can PING, thereby providing information to help cyber trail mappers. I have to admit, the last time I used PING in a sentence, I was referring to Story of Ping the Duck.
