I’m going to put my fears about global warming on hold for a little while.
I’m exploring the features of my new digital Canon A710IS camera. I took a new trail to add to my sense of discovery. Late November is typically skeletal trees and dried brush in shades of brown and grey, so I was not sure I’d find something dramatic to photograph.
But I found enough chickweed and wild mustard for a salad.
This camera has enough features to keep me motivated to take daily sunrise and sunset hikes.
The photos:
First is chickweed. In a sunny area, this plant would have a tiny white flower with five petals. It tastes like corn and can be eaten fresh. I may parboil and freeze it if I find it in abundance.

Here is wild garlic. Bulbs and green tops are tasty raw in salad at this time of year.

I caught this sunset image just before I lost battery power. Too bad or I would have had the view from a little further on which was even more colorful.
