Shift your focus. Cancel the negative image and replace it with a positive image. Sharpen the saw.
Today’s balmy weather gave me the opportunity to get out at first light and spend the bulk of the day in the woods. I got home after dark. I took my digital camera along. I foraged for enough wild edibles to make a salad:

I’ve been struggling with writer’s block. I need to hike to write. Finally I got control over my time and hiked ten miles. I could feel my attitude shift. It has been weeks since I’ve had a full day hike. It has been months since I slept outdoors.
Writing is beginning to feel like fun again.
Here is what my day looked like:

I discovered a patch of cattails. At this time of year, the fluff is excellent pillow stuffing. I know just where to go next spring to forage for cattail shoots.

I’m not sure if these muddy canid tracks are made by one individual. I think it might be the fox I saw. I know that one track reveals the animal slipped in the mud.
I love the sight of cascading water.
My shots of the lake didn’t turn out well. I cannot figure out how to upload my video files.
I am out of photo space for this blog, so I’ve posted photos and a recipe for my November spring green salad as a separate blog.
I am so envious of your lifestyle. Reckon I can get a wireless signal in the woods?
Good luck on getting a laptop you can take with.

I’ve been following the progress of the One Laptop Per Child Program, which is working to get computers into the hands of third-world children. The computers are not as high-powered as the ones we use, but it’s a start.
One of my dreams is to get completely off the grid.
