Plants Respond to the Changing Season

I don’t know what made the rhododendron outside my apartment window bloom.

But it’s nice to see.

It has been a sunny, but cool and low-humidity day, making it perfect for a hike.

Along the way, I found one last black trumpet mushroom. Fellow COMA member Joe Brandt, suggested I put a couple of black trumpets in white wine and let it sit for a couple of days.

I also found a chicken mushroom and noticed the first red-tinged maple leaves.

My kitchen counter is filled with fresh-picked heirloom tomatoes, garlic, basil, squash and Swiss chard from my CSA.

So the perfect day will end with a perfect meal of entirely fresh, local ingredients.
