Barry Keegan advised me to build at least 25 traps in order to get to a level of true proficiency. Chipmunks are much smaller than squirrels, so you're trying to hit a smaller target area. Good luck. I think this may be one of those situations where regional terms vary - like whether you drink "soda" or "pop" or put your groceries in a "bag" or a "sack."
